EDGERTON - Black Hawk sophomore Conner Meyer scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Black Hawk boys basketball team to a 66-54 win over Edgerton on Saturday.
Black Hawk (8-1, 3-1 Six Rivers East) jumped out to a 39-29 lead in the first half.
"We played at a fast pace in the first half," Black Hawk coach Charlie Anderson said. "We are playing against some quality teams and it's nice to get some quality victories."
The Warriors have defeated both Division 3 teams Platteville and Edgerton this season. The only loss for Black Hawk came to Pecatonica.
Black Hawk junior C.J. Leuzinger scored 14 points and knocked down four 3-pointers. Senior teammate Josh Meier added 10 points.
Meyer made 6 of 7 free throws and Meier made 3 of 4 free throws.
"They both made some free throws late in the clutch," Anderson said.
Black Hawk enters a tough three-game stretch. The Warriors will play at Argyle on Thursday and host second-ranked Division 4 power Darlington on Saturday before playing at No. 1-ranked Division 5 power Barneveld on Jan. 17.
"Hopefully, games like this will prepare us for good teams we have coming up like Darlington and Barneveld," Anderson said.
