SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk junior Aleigha Sigafus had a double-double scoring a game-high 16 points to go along with 10 rebounds to lift the Warriors to a 36-30 win over Juda Tuesday.

Black Hawk (5-14, 4-6 Six Rivers East) went on a 10-0 second quarter run to take a nine-point lead over Juda at the half.

Juda sophomore Chelsea Burkhalter scored eight of her 12 team-high points in the fourth quarter to spark a comeback. Burkhalter hit two 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and Alexis Goecks added seven points.

"I thought our defense in the first half was really good," Black Hawk coach Mike Flanagan said. "We did a good job of holding her (Burkhalter) early. We got a little sloppy defensively in the fourth. Juda kept battling to the end."

Black Hawk's Tatum Jackson added seven points and freshman Hannah Herbst chipped in six points. Sigafus was 6 of 6 from the free throw line and Jackson drilled two 3-pointers.

Black Hawk will play at Albany Friday.

"It was a huge game for seeding," Flanagan said. "This one and the game Friday will determine our destiny as far as the tournament goes. Argyle will probably be the No. 1 regional seed and Monticello will be the No. 2. We hope to take the No. 3 seed. That (Albany) will be a tall order for us."

Barneveld 86, Pecatonica 14

BLANCHARDVILLE - Barneveld's Rachel Slaney scored a game-high 32 points to lead the Eagles to an 86-14 win over the Pecatonica girls basketball team Tuesday in Blanchardville.

The Eagles jumped out to a 33-point lead after the first quarter and took a commanding 64-7 lead into the half. Hannah Whitish chipped in 20 points and Maggie Oimoen scored 14 for Barneveld.

"They (Barneveld) just came out and really put a lot of pressure on us," Pecatonica head coach Aaron Lancaster said of his team, which fell to 2-17, 2-9 on the season. "End-line to end-line, we didn't handle it well.

"We kind of threw the ball around. ... They were able to take advantage of some of those lazy passes and they turned them into quick points."

Pecatonica was led by senior Brooke Johnson, who scored seven points.

The Vikings have three games left in the regular season, starting with their last conference game Friday when they host Monticello. Lancaster said the team will look to put Tuesday's game behind them starting in practice Wednesday.

"It's just a matter of getting better each and every night," he said. "We'll stay with our routine.

"We'll do some transition defense stuff tomorrow night to reiterate the fact that we have to get back on defense and not let teams get uncontested layups."
