SOUTH WAYNE - After splitting a doubleheader on Tuesday with the No. 3 ranked team in state, Juda took a few steps back in a 3-2 loss to a young and inexperienced Black Hawk squad.
Juda took a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning off of Warriors starter Payton Schliem. However, Black Hawk rallied in the bottom of the seventh, scoring three times off of Panthers hurler Beau Benner with one out.
After striking out Jordan Luhman to lead off the seventh inning, Benner walked three straight hitters to load the bases. Schliem then doubled to tie the game and Shane Jackson won it with a walkoff single.
Benner finished the game with seven strikeouts and five hits allowed. Schliem allowed just three hits while striking out five. Juda committed three errors in the game.
T.J. Adams was 2-for-3 for Black Hawk and Schliem doubled. Christian Melton hit a triple for Juda.
Monticello 5, Argyle 1
ARGYLE - The Ponies busted out 11 hits and eight walks against Orioles pitcher Nick Martin.
Tyler Meier went 4-4 with a double, Corey McGowan finished 2-4 and Jacob Marty added a two-bagger for Monticello. Kevin Berg had a pair of doubles for Argyle and Cole Jordan added a double.
Monticello scored two runs in the second, one in the fourth and two more in the top of the seventh for insurance. Argyle scored its lone run in the sixth.
Brandon Holz struck out eight hitters while allowing just four hits and three walks in a complete game win for the Ponies.

RIVER RIDGE - Tanner Havens and Ronnie Rush shut down River Ridge on the hill as Darlington held on for a close victory.
The Redbirds scored a run in each of the first three innings and allowed just two runs in the bottom of the fifth.
Colton Carpenter and Carson Crist each had two hits for Darlington.
