Kylee Ritschard, Girls Basketball: Scored 13 points in a 65-46 win over Oregon Jan. 30. In a Jan. 26 win over Madison Edgewood, 56-44, Ritschard had 11 points.
Nick Walker, Wrestling: Came back from a third period deficit to pin Milton's Garrod Mielke in a heavyweight match in a Jan. 28 dual.
Mason Goff, Wrestling: Beat Milton's Craig Jenson, 4-3, in a 152-pound match during a Jan. 28 dual. Goff trailed 3-1 with under 48 seconds left, but managed to come back and get the win.
Area Boys:
Alex Erickson, Darlington Basketball: The junior scored 34 points in a Jan. 26 win over Boscobel. Three nights later, Erickson scored 26 points in a 61-51 win over Southwestern.
Ben Schmitt, Sugar River Wrestling: Won the 171-pound title at the Wisconsin Dells Invitational Jan. 30. Schmitt won in the semifinal via technical fall and pwon the championship with a 14-7 decision.
Dylan Severson, Brodhead-Juda Wrestling: Went 4-0 with four pins on his way to the heavyweight crown at the 18-team Deerfield Scramble Jan. 30.
Area Girls:
Katie Place, Black Hawk Basketball: Scored 12 points and played spectacular defense in a 41-19 win over rival Barneveld.
Kimee Chandler, Pecatonica Basketball: Scored 22 points in a 69-39 win over Argyle Jan. 28, just three nights after scoring 23 points in a 54-51 win against River Valley, a school over three times larger than Pecatonica.
Ellen Kiser, Juda Basketball: Scored 24 points in a 50-37 win over Monticello Jan. 28.
