BLANCHARDVILLE - Pecatonica blanked Albany on Monday by a score of 8-0 behind the big stick of Ross Gilbertson and Tannar Johnson's arm.

Gilbertson finished 2 for 3 with five RBIs - three of which came on a third-inning home run. The senior slugger also added an RBI single in the fifth inning for the Vikings.

Johnson threw a complete game on the mound, striking out nine and allowing just three hits. Johnson also added an RBI fielder's choice groundout in the third, which produced the game's first run.

Taylor Berg and Jake Scoville each went 2 for 3 for Pecatonica, as did teammate Tyler Francois, who added a 2-run single in the fifth.

Boomer Detra started on the hill for Albany and was charged with the loss. Both Detra and Cody Schulz pitched three innings for the Comets.
