MOUNT HOREB - The Mount Horeb boys basketball team hit 12 3-pointers to surge past Monroe 83-53 on Monday in a nonconference game.
Mount Horeb (12-9) built a 41-21 lead at the half. Mount Horeb senior Mike Holum scored a game-high 19 points and drilled three 3-pointers.
The game was first scheduled for Feb. 10 but was postponed after a tragic accident that killed three Monroe High School students.
Monroe senior Carter Sawdey scored a team-high 17 points, and senior Alex Tordoff added 12 points.
"They (Mount Horeb) just shot the ball really well," Monroe coach Brian Bassett said. "They just got hot. When a team gets hot and confident it's hard to put the fire out. We could have pressured the ball a little earlier."
The Cheesemakers (9-12) will close out the regular season when they host Milton at 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
