VERONA - The U14 Mystics girls soccer team had a successful run Sept. 26 at the Toe Bash Classic Soccer Tournament.
The Mystics beat the Madison Magic 1-0. Alexa McWorthy had five saves as goalkeeper. Zoee Pond was able to capitalize on a drive with a few minutes left, giving Monroe the game's only goal.
Against McFarland, the Mystics' Alexa Bader scored in the first half while teammate Megan Benzschawel scored in the second half of a game that ended in a 2-2 tie. The defense played by Maddison Markham, Kayleigh Nesbitt and Maha Mustafa was able to contain McFarland.
Going into Sept. 27, Monroe was in first place but fell in the standings after losing to Baraboo 2-0.
