Two Monroe residents win FAITH Run

MONROE - Two Monroe runners were the top winners Saturday in the second annual F.A.I.T.H. 5K run.

Phil Bottigliero won the race in 19 minutes, 45 seconds. Ann Lange was the first female finisher and placed fourth overall in 22:57.

Beloit's Cupertino Manuel placed second in 20:31, and Lena's Adam Matthews finished third in 21:03.

Monroe's Amanda Gerber, the top overall female in the inaugural F.A.I.T.H. 5K in 2015, was the second woman to finish Saturday and placed fifth overall in 23:52. Monroe's Angela Daughenbaugh was the third woman and sixth overall in 24:21.

The 3.1-mile course started at the Monroe Clinic, went through Twining Park and looped around the neighborhood behind the Green County Family YMCA before returning to the clinic.

Male age-group winners were:

1-14: Camron Newcomer, Monroe, 25:18

20-29: Paul Morris, Monroe, 30:12

30-39: Bottigliero

40-49: Manuel

50-59: Randy Pink, Monroe, 25:37

60 and over: Jim Mason, McFarland, 30:09.



Female age-group winners were:

1-14: Marlies Brandli, Monroe, 29:28

15-19: Lauren Hlubek, Monroe, 29:43

20-29: Michelle Belay, Monroe, 26:06

30-39: Lange

40-49: Daughenbaugh

50-59: Shari Rampenthal, Monroe, 26:18

The event, a fundraiser held by F.A.I.T.H. Addiction Awareness with proceeds benefiting the substance abuse program of Green County Human Services, also featured a two-mile walk and drew more than 200 participants.
