Trevor Johnson leads Darlington to win

DARLINGTON - Trevor Johnson scored 17 points and Chad Golackson added 11 points to lead the Darlington High School boys basketball team past Boscobel 70-52 Friday night in a SWAL game.

Boscobel's Ryan Latham, who finished with 22 points, was hard to contain early in the game, so the Redbirds switched to a zone and were able to shut him down until halftime.

Darlington (8-2, 4-1) had a 31-17 lead at the half against Boscobel (3-6, 0-5). Johnson had eight points in the first half, and Golackson seven.

Darlington finished with 8 three-pointers, including two each by Johnson and Golackson.



Barneveld 58,

Pecatonica 43

BARNEVELD - With first-place in the Six Rivers East Conference on the line, Barneveld ran away from Pecatonica.

Pecatonica junior A.J. Hendrickson scored a team-high 21 points.

It was the first conference loss of the season for Pecatonica, which drops to 7-3, 3-1 Six Rivers East. Barneveld improves to 6-3, 5-0.



Juda 48, Monticello 31

JUDA - Junior Matt Schmitt scored a game-high 19 points to propel Juda past Monticello.

Juda (4-7, 1-3 Six Rivers East) raced out to a 26-10 lead in the first half. Juda sophomore Keagen Haffele added 10 points and hit three 3-pointers.

Monticello (0-10, 0-5) was led by Zach Price, who scored 11 points. Senior Logan Marty added six points.

Both teams struggled from the free-throw line. The Panthers were 9 of 21 and the Ponies were 7 of 17.



In other action, Argyle slipped by Black Hawk 62-55. Argyle improves to 7-3, 2-2 Six Rivers East, while Black Hawk drops to 4-5, 2-2.
