STOUGHTON - Potter's field is one place the Lady Cheesemakers won't want to return anytime soon.
Stoughton senior forward Morgan Potter tickled the twine behind Monroe keeper Niamh Culhane-O'Neill three times in leading the Vikings past Monroe, 4-1, in a Badger South match Tuesday evening.
Monroe had many chances to cut into the deficit that was 3-1 at halftime.
"It was quite disappointing for the Monroe team because they had so many opportunities," Monroe coach Miriam O'Neill said. "There's just a lack of confidence in front of the net and that's something we'll have to work on."
Junior Pam Lehman scored Monroe's only goal off a direct kick in the first half. The Cheesemakers will need to be downright fearless on their home pitch when Verona visits Honey Creek Park Thursday evening.
