BRODHEAD - The Crimson Tide bought a vital insurance policy to clip the Cardinals in Tuesday's Rock Valley Conference opener.
Edgerton rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh inning off Brodhead ace Kayla Stampfli in a 9-4 victory. Junior Cassie Morrison led the 13-hit parade with three knocks and scored twice. Jordan Riese led five Cardinals that each collected two hits in as many official at-bats as the junior left fielder had a triple and scored twice.
Brodhead, which is a favorite to finish in the upper echelon of the Rock Valley, tied things up at 2-2 in the bottom of the third before Edgerton responded with three runs in the top of the fourth.
