Three Gems win state titles

MONROE - Three gymnasts on the Green County Gems won state titles at the YMCA state gymnastics meet in Waukesha last weekend.

Jasmin Corning won a state championship in the Level 3 all-around competition. She finished second on the vault and fourth on the bars.

Jenny Knox, a Level 7 gymnast won a state championship on the beam and helped the Gems Level 7 team finish in sixth place as a team. Knox added a second-place finish on the floor.

Heather Burkhalter, a Level 4 gymnast, won a state title on the vault and helped the Gems Level 4 team to a seventh-place state finish.

The other top finishes include:

Level 3

- Jensen Christensen second place, floor

- Maggie Setterstrom, second place, beam, second place, floor, third place, all-around, fourth place vault

- Ali Swenson fourth place, beam

- Kira Phillips, fourth place, bars

Level 4

- Merideth Hose second place, bars, third place, beam, third place, all-around

- Miranda Klitzman bars, fourth place

- Anya Teasdale fourth place, all around

Level 5

- Lexus Trickel fourth place, bars, fourth place, floor

Level 7

- Josie Eberle fourth place, vault

Level 8

- Maria Eberle fourth place, beam
