MONROE - Clarke University junior Gwen Sutter, a Monroe alumna, has been named to the NAIA Division II women's basketball Scholar-Athlete.
To be nominated for the award, a student-athlete must be nominated by a coach and maintain a grade-point average on a 4.0 scale and must be at least a junior. This is the second time Sutter has earned Scholar-Athlete honors. Sutter has a 3.85 cumulative GPA and is majoring in psychology.
Sutter and sophomore teammate Breland Prochaska (Fennimore) were named first-team Midwest College All-Conference recently. Prochaska led the Crusaders in scoring (12.6 ppg), steals (39) and finished second in assists (65). Sutter ranked second for Clarke in scoring (9.1 ppg) and rebounding (4.8 rpg).
