NEW GLARUS - The Sugar River Rapids swim team swam to first place in the Heidi Invitational Saturday.
Sugar River racked up 735 points to outduel three other teams for the title. Mineral Point finished second place (357.5), followed by Belleville (182.5) and the Monroe Area Swim Team (179) in the four team meet.
Sugar River's Mazie Paradis, 7, won three individual races in the 7-8 year-old girls division including the 25-meter freestyle (17.70), the 100 IM (1:38.90) and the 25 butterfly (20.44). Paradis teamed with Amalia Morrison, Camryn Arnett and Hannah Boldebuck to win the 100 medley relay with a time of 2:04.31. Paradis teamed with Alana Bay, Delaney Lynch and Eve MacLean to win the 100 freestyle relay (1:55.76).
Jadyn Elgin won the 50 freestyle (44.15) and the 25 breaststroke (26.0). Addison Edge, 8, finished first place in the 7-8 girls' 25 backstroke (28.79).
Monroe's Emily Meritt won the girls 13-14 year-old 50 freestyle (33.26). Meritt teamed with Alisha Bennett, Grace Schrenk and Cassi Gersbach to win the 200 medley relay (2:56.40). The same quartet for Monroe won the 200 medley relay (2:29.70).
Sugar River's Nina Schiro, 14, finished first place in the 13-14 girls' 100 IM (1:19.93) and 100 freestyle (1:11.77) and the 50 backstroke (35.51). Teammate Megan Berg won the 50 butterfly (39.96).
Charlie Tollefson, 13, won four individual races in the boys 13-14 year-old division including the 50 freestyle (34.08),100 freestyle (1:22.73), 50 backstroke (46.58) and 50 breaststroke (45.43).
Keatan Zimmerman, 10, finished first place in the 9-10 girls 50 freestyle (39.39).
Sugar River's Francesca Schiro, 12, won the 11-12 girls' 100 IM (1:23.71), 100 freestyle (1:13.93) and 50 breaststroke (41.88). Francesca's sister, Samantha Schiro, 11, won the 50 backstroke (44.56). Samantha and Francesca Schiro teamed with Chloe Kramer and Annabella Tetner to win the 200 medley relay (2:48.02). Francesca teamed with Kendra Wenger, Kramer and Annie Fuller to win the 11-12 girls' 200 freestyle relay (2:39.57).
Mason Thompson, 12, finished first place in three events - the 11-12 boys' 50 freestyle (35.15), the 100 IM (1:33.51) and the 50 butterfly (43.95).
Eli Zimmerman, 10, won the 9-10 boys' 100 IM (1:26.49), the 50 butterfly (35.62) and the 100 freestyle (1:10.40). Sugar River's Jacob Piper, 10, won the boys 9-10 year-old 50 freestyle (38.30) and the 50 backstroke (50.99). Piper and Zimmerman teamed with Emery Johnson and Karson Wenger to win the 200 medley relay (3:21.69). The same quartet finished first place in the 200 freestyle relay (2:50.69). Monroe's Zachary Meighan, 10, won the 50 breaststroke (51.0).
Monroe's Savannah Brandt, 15, finished first place in the girls' 50 backstroke (41.75), the 100 IM (1:24.02) and 100 freestyle (1:12.80).
Sugar River's Brecklyn Thompson also won three individual races including the 7-8 boys' 100 individual medley (1:46.16), the 25 butterfly (21.10) and 50 freestyle (41.79).
