Sugar River sours in 2010 opener

BELLEVILLE - The Sugar River Raiders lost their season-opener to McFarland Tuesday, 2-1.

The Spartans scored the game's first goal in the 39th minute of the first half.

The Raiders tied the game on a goal by Justin Stadelman in the 46th minute on an assist by Jon Fox.

McFarland scored again in the 67th minute for the game's final goal.

The Spartans out-shot the Raiders 14-6.

Sugar River travels to Sun Prairie Thursday night. On Saturday, the Raiders will travel to the East Troy Quad.
