MONROE - Stoughton junior Troy Slaby drilled a 3-pointer to start overtime and provided a spark that led the Vikings to a 71-63 win over the Monroe High School boys basketball team on Senior Night Tuesday.
Stoughton (12-8, 8-2 Badger South) went on a 7-0 run in the extra session and outscored the Cheesemakers 14-6 to seal the win.
Monroe (4-16, 1-9) rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit against Badger South co-leader Stoughton.
It's the third straight game the Cheesemakers have trailed by 15 points or more. The Cheesemakers are 0-8 in games decided by six points or less.
The Cheesemakers stormed back with a 20-4 run to start the second half. The Cheesemakers took the lead with 8:12 left.
With 1:38 to go, Monroe tied the game at 57 on a free throw. The Vikings held the ball for a final shot, but Brady Schipper missed a shot from close range.
Monroe senior Ben Latimer scored 19 points to lead the Cheesemakers. Junior teammate Jake Kind added 12 points.
