DARLINGTON - Laura Steiner pitched a complete-game eight-hitter and Darlington collected 18 hits in defeating Riverdale 8-5 in a Southwest Wisconsin Activities League softball game Monday.
Steiner allowed eight hits and five runs - four earned. She had seven strikeouts and issued two walks.
Brianna King went 3-for-4 with three doubles while Caitie Chiaverotti and Jacke Johnson also had three hits for the Redbirds. Anna Fitzsimons, Cassidy Cox and Anna Monson each added two hits for Darlington.
Barneveld 5, Pecatonica 3
BARNEVELD - Julia Meyer was solid in the circle and Katie Sather went 4-for-4, but it wasn't enough for Pecatonica in Six Rivers East play Monday.
Meyer allowed seven hits and all five runs - four earned. She did not have a strikeout and walked six. Sather had a triple among her four hits.
