Stampfli no-hits Whitewater

BRODHEAD - Brodhead sophomore Erika Stampfli pitched a no-hitter to lead the Cardinals to a 21-0 five inning softball win over Whitewater on Tuesday.

In five innings, Stampfli struck out 13 and walked one.

The Cardinals scored nine runs in the first inning and added a 10-run second. Whitewater was plagued by six errors and surrendered 11 unearned runs.

Brodhead's Tia Collins led the Cardinals, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.

Stampfli tripled, and scored three runs. Jorden Riese also tripled and scored two runs.

Juda 4, Monticello 0

MONTICELLO - Juda freshman Amber Ramos threw a four-hit shutout while striking out 12 batters.

"She single-handedly beat us," Ponies head coach Duane Garrison said.

Ramos also hit a solo home run in the game, and Ali Pierce finished 2-for-3 for the Panthers.

Juda scored a run in each of the first three innings and another in the top of the seventh.

Mary Hershberger struck out six and walked seven on the mound for Monticello and Taylor Pfeuti had a double at the plate.

Shullsburg-Benton 9, Argyle 7

ARGYLE - The Miners scoed two runs in the top of the seventh on a triple to break a tie.

Argyle tied the game at 7-7 in the bottom of the sixth by scoring three runs.

Kelsey Bartels struck out 11 batters for the Orioles. Kelsey Ostby was 4-for-4 with three doubles and Jodi Fischer finished 3-for-4 with three doubles.

Boscobel 14, Darlington 6

DARLINGTON - A five-run second inning by the Redbirds wasn't enough to hold off Boscobel.

Darlington allowed two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth, and then eight runs in the seventh to lose the game.

Abby Schulte was 2-for-3 and Schawna Foulker had a triple for the Redbirds (1-4).

"They hit the ball, and there wasn't much we could do about it," Darlington coach Rebecca Norgard said.

Allison Taylor allowed 18 hits in seven innings on the mound, striking out four and walking one. The Redbirds had two errors in the game.

Highland 29,

Albany 0

ALBANY - The Comets fell hard in a makeup game to Highland. Albany committed seven errors, and threw three pitchers in the five inning game, with the most damage coming at the end.

Highland scored seven runs in the first inning and two in the second against Clare Koopmans. Kaitlyn Schultz allowed nine runs over the next two innings and Katie Krupke allowed 11 runs in the fifth.

Megan Farley, Katie Sutherland and Jill McNeely all had hits for the Comets.

"We're getting better, we really are," Albany head coach Connie Wunschel said. "We turned a double play and have been doing a lot of the little things right. We are still inexperienced, though.
