Squirt B team records shutout

MONROE - The Avalanche Squirt B hockey shut out host Stoughton 7-0.

After a scoreless first period, Jack Rikkers scored off an assist from Payton Hathaway and D.J. Rath scored unassisted, and Evan Brendamuehl scored off an assist from Rath in the second period. The third period was much of the same with scoring from Hathaway off an assist from Jack Rikkers, Carson Buholzer off an assist from Rath, and Hathaway off an assist from Dylan Lewis. Brendemuehl scored a goal on an assist from Rath, who earned a playmaker for the game. Goalie Xander Obert had four saves.

On Sunday, the Squirt B team lost to Middleton 7-2. The first goal was scored by Hathaway on assists from Buholzer and Jaryn Fonseca. The second goal was scored by Buholzer off assists from Obert and Fonseca. Kyle Theorin recorded 13 saves. The Squirt B team managed 33 shots on goal but could not squeak by the Middleton goalie.



Bantam A

The Avalanche Bantam A team were shut out 9-0 by the Waunakee Wildcats Saturday in a home match.

On Sunday, the Avalanche shut out host Stoughton 10-0. Hayden Roth was on fire, scoring six goals. Travis Edmunds found the back of the net twice. Payton Stauffacher fired pucks from the blue line and center ice for two goals. Tessa Janecke earned a playmaker while Anika Einbeck, Travis Edmunds, Luke Kuberski and Cade Janecke each earned an assist. Goaltender Darien Hargrove recorded 13 saves. The Avalanche outshot Stoughton 59-13.
