SHEBOYGAN - The Avalanche Squirt A team finished third place in the Squirt 3A State Tournament March 8-9 in Sheboygan.

In the Avalanche's first game on Saturday, March 8, they defeated the Marshfield Blades 8-4. Tessa Janecke scored the first goal for the Avalanche. Alvin Buholzer fired one in from the blue line. Alyssa Knauf found Tessa Janecke for another goal. The next goal by Tessa Janecke earned her a hat trick, but she wasn't done scoring. She picked up the next goal on a pass from Hayden Roth. She returned the favor as she passed the puck to Roth for the sixth goal. Rob Schroeder was able to get in on the scoring action on a pass from Tessa Janecke. Tessa Janecke scored the final goal. Goalie Aiden Runkle recorded 28 saves.

In the second game Saturday, March 8, against the Sheboygan Lakers (eventual champion), the Avalanche were shut out 6-0. Runkle recorded 22 saves.

The Avalanche dominated the entire third place game against Oshkosh Warbirds, defeating them 10-2.

Seven of the nine Avalanche skaters scored. Tessa Janecke started the scoring with an assist from Alyssa Knauf. Janecke earned a hat trick as she had a total of four goals with her last goal an astonishing 103rd goal of the season. Earning assists were Buholzer and Schroeder. Lilah Bauer lit the lamp with assists from Anna Malone and Hayden Roth. Schroeder got on the scoreboard with an assist from Tessa Janecke. Jack Leverton tipped one in on a blue line pass from Alyssa Knauf. Roth scored one unassisted. Alyssa Knauf lit the lamp with assists from Malone and Blaze Janecke. Blaze Janecke scored the final goal with an assist from Tessa Janecke. The Avalanche outshot the Warbirds 26-13.
