SLICE hosts Midget hockey tournament this weekend

MONROE - The Wisconsin Amateur Hockey Association Midget 16U state hockey tournament will be hosted Saturday and Sunday at Monroe's SLICE.

Hudson, Superior, River Valley, Dodgeville, Monroe and West Madison all will vie for a state title in the tourney of players ages 14-16.

Saturday's first game is at 8 a.m. between Hudson and Dodgeville, with Superior-Monroe following at 10 a.m. River Valley plays West Madison at noon, Hudson faces Monroe at 4 p.m.. River Valley and Dodgeville will settle their differences at 6 p.m. before Superior and Madison wrap up the first-day action at 8 p.m.

Monroe opens Sunday's play against River Valley at 8 a.m before Hudson and Madison West play at 10 a.m., followed by Superior and Dodgeville at noon. The two teams with the most points after those games will play in the title game at 4 p.m. Sunday.

The tournament returns to Monroe for the sixth consecutive year and is open to the public. Admission is $20 for a family weekend pass, $15 for an individual weekend pass or $8 individual per day.
