MONTICELLO — The Six Rivers Conference will hold its fifth annual East vs. West Volleyball Showdown at 7 p.m. Friday, July 23 at Monticello High School.

Shullsburg head coach Hannah Pick will lead the West team along with River Ridge head coach Dianne Langmeier and Shullsburg assistant coach Cora Holland, while Black Hawk head coach Rachel Wolff will guide the East team along with Monticello head coach Rebecca Gustafson.

The teams will be made up of the senior All-Conference selections from the West Division and East Division squaring off in a final five-set match to end their prep volleyball careers. All the senior All-Conference selections are invited to play in the game, but all may not attend due to a variety of reasons.

There was no East vs. West Showdown held last summer due to the coronavirus pandemic. The West rolled over the East, 4-1, in the 2019 senior showcase to gain a 2-1 edge in the all-time series.

All proceeds from the free-will admission and other fund-raising efforts during the night go directly to the Madison Children’s Hospital in support of their events. Coaches, game personnel, referees and other participants donated their time to this event.

In the four-year history of the All-Star event, the Six Rivers Conference has donated over $3,000 to the Children’s Hospital.
