SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk sophomore Hannah Butler scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Warriors to a 71-48 win over Potosi in the Six Rivers Challenge Friday.

Black Hawk (18-0, 9-0 Six Rivers East), ranked No. 1 in the Division 5 WisSports.net Coaches Poll, raced out to a 21-point lead at the half, 46-25.

"We didn't shoot the ball particularly well in the second half," Black Hawk coach Mike Flanagan said. "It wasn't our best shooting night. To beat a quality team like them (Potosi) by 23 we certainly can't hang our head about it."

Black Hawk freshman Bailey Butler added 15 points and sophomore Natalie Leuzinger had 13. Both Hannah and Bailey Butler each hit two 3-pointers. Black Hawk freshman Kaylee Marty chipped in 11.

Potosi was led by Abby Kaiser who scored 17.

"We are a good defensive team," Flanagan said. "They have some weapons. Kaiser is really tough top stop."

Benton 58, Albany 54

ALBANY - Juniors Megan Anderson and Libby Beck combined to score 34 points, but Benton edged the Comets in a Six River Challenge game Friday.

Both Anderson and Beck each scored a team-high 17 points. Albany (7-10, 4-4 Six Rivers East) led by two points at the break. The Zephyrs outscored the Comets 33-27 in the second half.

"We didn't play with a ton of urgency or energy tonight," Albany coach Derik Doescher said.

"The refs did a good job," Doescher said. "We have to do a better job of moving our feet and not fouling. We lost by four and that is a big discrepancy. We have to find a way to close that gap and shoot more free throws. With our posts, if we are strong with the basketball and going to the basket we should be shooting more than 11 free throws."

"They made jump shots and we didn't," Pecatonica coach Bobby Rose said. "They played a zone and they protect the paint at all costs. We had open shots and opportunities in the first half.
