Schmitt sparks Juda to win

JUDA - The Juda boys basketball team had four players reach double figures en route to a 74-45 win over the Milwaukee School of the Arts in the season opener Tuesday.

Juda junior Matt Schmitt posted a double-double with a game-high 20 points and 16 rebounds. Juda's Skyler Stuckey scored 17 points, Peter Bouc added 14, and Keagen Haffele chipped in 13.



Pecatonica 60, Belmont 44

BLANCHARDVILLE - After falling behind in the first half, Pecatonica focused on extending its defense out to the 3-point line and rolled past Belmont.

Belmont made seven 3-pointers in the first half to take a 28-24 lead. The Vikings

didn't allow a 3-pointer in the second half.

Pecatonica junior A.J. Hendrickson scored a game-high 18 points, and senior Brooks Chandler added 11.



Argyle 52, Madison Abundant Life 50

MADISON - Senior Riley Ostby scored a team-high 18 points to launch the Orioles.

Argyle picked up its defense over the final 7 minutes to pull out the win.

Argyle senior Kyle Emberson and junior Collin Argue each had 14 points. Abundant Life's Spencer Wright scored a game-high 29.



Parkview 53, Monticello 33

ORFORDVILLE - Monticello senior Logan Marty posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, but the Ponies dropped their season opener.

The Ponies made just 5 of 18 free throws. Monticello sophomore Jon Errthum scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
