BRODHEAD - Kristen Ruchti, a senior standout athlete at Brodhead High School, formally signed her letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside on Wednesday morning.
Ruchti, a 6-foot center who just led the Cardinals to their first state appearance in volleyball, averaged 13.8 points per game last year on her way to Rock Valley South all-conference honors and conference Player of the Year.
As a sophomore, Ruchti averaged 13.8 points per game on her way to first-team all-conference awards.
This season, Ruchti will be the centerpiece of a veteran Cardinals team that looks to win the RVC title, as well as a potential trip to state.
