MONROE - Two Green County Family YMCA Mat Rats and three Monroe High School wrestlers traveled to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to compete in the Cliff Keen USAW Folkstyle Nationals at the UNI-Dome over the weekend.
Patrick Rielly, an MHS wrestler competing for the Mat Rats, placed eighth in the 32-wrestler, 160-pound Cadet bracket.
Competing but not placing were Mat Rats' Jack Dubach (85-pound Novice bracket) and Garret Voegeli (77-pound Schoolboy bracket).
Also wrestling for the Mat Rats were high school wrestlers Alex Witt (152-pound Cadet bracket) and Tyson Welsch (heavyweight Junior bracket). Neither placed.
The tournament drew about 2,000 wrestlers from across the country.
