WISCONSIN DELLS - The Darlington girls golf team finished seventh out of eight teams at the WIAA Division 2 Wisconsin Dells sectional Monday at Trappers Turn Golf Club.
The Redbirds shot a 418 as a team, which was seven shots behind sixth-place Southwestern-Cuba City. La Crosse Aquinas captured the sectional team title (377) over second-place Arcadia (381). The top two teams advance to the state tournament.
Aquinas sophomore Annie Balduzzi shot a 7-over-par 79 to win the individual sectional title. Darlington senior Kinsey Gould finished tied for 15th after shooting a 97, which was six shots away from qualifying for state. The last state qualifying spot was secured by Lancaster senior Brooke Marcue, who carded a 91.
Darlington senior Alexi Wagner tied for 30th (105) and junior teammate Kennedy Wagner tied for 34th (107). Senior teammate Cora Carpenter carded a 109 to tie for 37th.
