DARLINGTON - One needs look no further than the first quarter of Darlington's 71-45 thrashing of Southwestern Friday night to know how excited the Redbirds are to be done with a grueling stretch.
"It was nice after five games in a week to finish it off like this," Darlington coach Kurt Cohen said.
Darlington stormed out to a 20-4 lead through eight minutes and didn't lose an individual quarter.
Cassie Fink led Darlington with 16 points and Katie Martin added 14 while Southwestern's Haley Jansen led all scorers with 24 and hit four 3s.
The Redbirds hit 23 free throws while the Wildcats only attempted 22.
