Redbirds fall to Cubans

DARLINGTON - The Darlington Redbirds hosted the Cuba City boys basketball team on Tuesday night, with both teams compiling a 3-1 record in SWAL conference play. But by the end of the game, the visiting Cubans were the ones to improve their record, as they won 58-41.

In the game's first quarter, both teams struggled to score as Cuba City held a one-basket lead.

But as the game continued, the Cubans were able to pick up the pace as they expanded their lead and they never looked back.

Senior Cade Hardyman continued his impressive play of late, scoring 14 points in his team's loss.

Darlington (6-5, 3-2) hosts Iowa-Grant on Friday, Jan. 24.



Wis. Heights 65,

New Glarus 47

NEW GLARUS - Junior Colton Boley led the New Glarus boys basketball team with eight points, in a game where multiple turnovers plagued the Knights in a loss to Wisconsin Heights, 65-47.

In a stretch that spanned between the second and third quarters, the Knights were outscored by 21 points, which all but assured that a comeback was not in the making.

The Knights (5-8, 1-2) will travel to take on Cambridge on Friday, Jan. 24.
