CUBA CITY - The Darlington-Cuba City girls golf team battled the heat and finished third out of four teams at the conference meet hosted by Southwestern at Cole Acres Monday, Aug. 26.
Lancaster won the meet edging Prairie du Chien 218-222. The Redbirds were paced by senior Sami Poss who shot a 54 and Shelly Augustine with a 58. The Redbirds shot a season-high 236.
"The heat was definitely a factor with all of the girls," Darlington-Cuba City coach Jim Poss said. "I noticed today the girls are reverting back to old, bad habits and not using the fundamentals they learned at the beginning of our lessons. Some of this is due to the heat and some due to a lack of discipline."
Darlington-Cuba City's Alexi Wagner carded a 61 and Ali Simmons finished with a 63. Jeremy Pink 8/26/13
