Season championships bring excitement to LCR

DARLINGTON — Jeff Larson edged out Kenny Kostenbader in the Modifieds season championship at the Lafayette County Raceway Friday, but Kostenbader took the points crown 354-332. 

Mike Fryer finished third in points at 327 and Derek Thompson was fourth (303).

Jason Robbins beat out Rich Picha and Travis Johnson in the Late Models division in the championship race. Jamie Pfieffer (374) won the points total for the season, with Robbins (368) narrowly missing out. Jeff Parks (310) was third and Steve Schueller (305) was fourth.

Tyler Soppe took home first place in the SportMods class Friday night, finishing ahead of Jason Roth and Tim Sorn. Sorn was the points leader with 358 on the season, ahead of Bob Silaggi (335), Kyle Hoffman (331) and Zach Maurer (331). 

In the Four Cylinders race, Terry Edge Jr. held off Eric Beau and Brad Lamont Friday. Beau finished first in the points total (357), with Lamont (336) coming in second and Cameron Wahl (325) third.

Tim Maurer won the points total in the Trucks class, finishing with 366 points, ahead of Scott Martie (344) and Derek McBee (283). Jordan Lickes won Friday’s season championship race, finishing ahead of Tim Maurer (second) and McBee (third).
