ST. LOUIS — New Glarus 2024 graduate, Lindsey Schadewalt, was voted the 2024-25 Great Lakes Valley Conference Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Year to highlight Maryville University’s postseason honors. The Saints had three selections to the All-Conference teams as Gracie Stugart was a first-team honoree, Schadewalt earned second-team All-Conference, while Claire Rake was named third-team All-GLVC. In addition, Faith Hawthorne was Maryville’s James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award nominee.

Schadewalt is Maryville’s second GLVC Freshman of the Year selection and the first since Shelby Miller was selected in 2011-12. Schadewalt led the conference’s freshmen in points per game (12.4), field goals (124), 3-pointers (42) and free throws made (56). In GLVC-only games, she averaged 13.4 points to top the league. In addition to leading the team in scoring, Schadewalt averaged 3.1 rebounds to go along with 24 assists and 12 steals while shooting .889 at the free-throw line.
The Maryville women’s basketball team advanced to the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Championship game at Hyland Arena in St. Charles, MO, by upsetting top-seed Lewis 73-59.


Lindsey Schadewalt, the GLVC Freshman of the Year, led four Saints in double figures with 17 points. The Maryville defense held Lewis to 31.3 percent shooting from the field. The Saints advanced to their first GLVC title game since the last of three straight title game appearances in 2014. Maryville won its only GLVC Tournament crown in 2012.
Adylan Ayer and Lindsey Schadewalt both scored 16 points apiece but the Maryville women’s basketball team fell 64-60 to No. 3 seed Quincy in the 2025 Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament Championship game.
Other notable honors include being named to the 2025 GLVC conference All Tournament team.
