Bauer, Franklin Pierce ousted in by No. 7

MADISON — In their first NCAA tournament appearance, the Ravens held their own against nationally ranked No. 7 Quinnipiac, falling to the Bobcats, 4-0 on March 12.

Despite the loss, the game marks the first NCAA tournament appearance in program history, putting Franklin Pierce in the national spotlight and holding their own against a nationally ranked team.

The Ravens held their own defensively, led by senior goaltender Jill Hertl (Highland Park, Ill.) making 19 saves in the first period and 49 in the game.

With the loss, this marks their final game of the 2025-26 campaign. The Ravens end the season with one of the most historic performances seen in program history, collecting multiple NEWHA major awards, winning the NEWHA Tournament, and earning their first bid into the NC Women’s Ice Hockey Championship. 

Lilah Bauer, a 2024 Monroe graduate, is a sophomore defender on the team. Last season she had two goals and nine assists in 32 games and was the NEWHA Student Athlete of the Year and named to the NEWHA All-Academic Team. This season she played in 33 games, recorded seven assists and took 25 shots. 

Franklin Pierce University is a private university in Rindge, New Hampshire. It was founded as Franklin Pierce College in 1962, combining a liberal arts foundation with coursework for professional preparation.
