ARGYLE — From Aug. 19-21, the Argyle Rod & Gun Club will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the club. The public is welcome to attend.
According to club records, the Argyle Rod & Gun Club was originally established on Oct. 13, 1922 as a trap club. Skeet and sporting clays were added over the years. Today, the club features multiple leagues and opening shoots throughout the year.
The club, located on Wis. 81 about 1.5 miles south east of Argyle, is situated over 80 acres to spread its 50-bird, eight station sporting clay course. The clubhouse has snacks and drinks and is family-friendly.
On Friday, Aug. 19, the club will hold a 50 Bird Trap Event with Lewis Class Protection and Annie Oakley’s from 4-9 p.m.
The next day, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., sporting clays, skeet, trap and five stand fun shoots will take place. Sign up to shoot a round of sporting clays and five stand to be entered to win a gun. Sign up to shoot a round of skeet and trap to be entered to win a second gun. Shooters must shoot in both categories to get their name entered. The gun drawing is at 6 p.m. Onsite raffles include guns, a gun safe and 50/50.
From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 21, protection and Annie Oakley’s will take place, with Super Annie Oakley with added money at 2 p.m.
