KENOSHA - As a tune-up for the post-season, the Juda Panthers faced the Kenosha Christian Life Eagles, one of the state's top Division 3 teams Tuesday, but lost a heartbreaker, 2-1.
The game featured 33 strikeouts as Juda's Amber Ramos rung up 16 and Kenosha Christian Life's Brie Tennyson fanned 17.
The Panthers scored their lone run in the third inning without getting a hit as sophomore Kaitlyn DeVoe walked, stole second and third, then scored on a passed ball. The Panthers got just one hit off Tennyson for the game.
Ramos had a no-hitter through six innings but the Eagles came up with two runs on a pair of walks and three hits in the bottom of the seventh to win the game and improve to 16-2.
Juda finishes the regular season 13-7 and is the No.1 seed in the Division 4 regional.
They have a first-round bye and will face the winner of Thursday's regional quarterfinal between Pecatonica and Monticello, Tuesday.
