LODI - With a 3-1 conference win over Lodi on Tuesday, the Sugar River soccer team ended the Blue Devils' 27-game conference winning streak that dated back to 2011.
After Lodi got on the score board first in the 20th minute, Sugar River sophomore Nicole Sanders punched in a free kick past Blue Devils defenders, tying the game with just seconds before half.
Sanders again struck net at 48:58 in the second half off of a penalty kick to give the Raiders the lead. With the game winding down, Sugar River widened the gap and lessened the likelihood of any chance of a Lodi comeback as the Raiders scored in the 67th minute.
