ALBANY - Kate Quinn took it upon herself to make sure the Black Hawk girls basketball team got back on the winning track.

The senior forward scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds Saturday, helping power the Warriors to a 48-39 victory against Albany one day after having their 30-game Six Rivers East Conference winning streak snapped at Barneveld.

Sophomore guard Jen Wellnitz added 16 points and six assists for Black Hawk (17-2, 9-1 Six Rivers East), which pulled into a tie atop the league standings with Barneveld.

Black Hawk bolted to a 20-10 first-quarter lead and led 42-30 after three quarters.

Junior Cassidy Bump scored 17 points and junior Kristie Kauk added nine for Albany (4-15, 0-10).
