Potosi stuns No. 2 ranked Black Hawk

POTOSI - The top of the Six Rivers Conference in football just got more jumbled after Potosi stunned No. 2 ranked Black Hawk 29-22 Friday.

With the loss, Black Hawk (4-2, 4-1 Six Rivers) is now in a three-way tie atop the conference with Potosi and Belmont at 4-1 in conference play. Pecatonica-Argyle (4-1, 3-1) could make it a four-way tie as the Vikings host Cassville at 2 p.m. today.

"We came back in the fourth quarter a lot more physical," Black Hawk coach Cory Milz said. "We made a few mistakes that we shouldn't be making at this stage in the season. We didn't play our best game."

Black Hawk senior Shawn Woodruff rushed for 224 yards on 29 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Black Hawk is in a key three-game stretch. The Warriors will host Pecatonica-Argyle in a homecoming game Saturday, Oct. 4 and then host Belmont Friday, Oct. 10.

"That will be a big one," Milz said of the upcoming game against the Vikings on homecoming. "If they beat Cassville then we will both be 4-1, and if we take care of business we will share."



Darlington 45, Boscobel 2

BOSCOBEL - Darlington sophomore Hunter Johnson rushed for 157 yards and scored four touchdowns to power the Redbirds to a 45-2 win over Boscobel.

Darlington (5-1, 4-0 SWAL) gashed the Bulldogs for 308 total rushing yards. Darlington senior quarterback Cole McDonald tossed a 7-yard TD pass to Cole Whalen in the first quarter. Darlington senior running back Jason Singer scored on a 7-yard run to extend the Redbirds' lead to 12-0 in the first quarter. McDonald was 4 of 6 passing for 144 yards with one touchdown.

Johnson had four touchdown runs of 9, 44, 65 and 4 yards in the second half.



Marshall 29,

NG-MONTICELLO 0

MARSHALL - Marshall ran away from New Glarus-Monticello Friday, beating the Glarner Knights 29-0.

The Knights (1-5, 0-2 Capitol South) had 125 total yards with 47 passing yards on five completions compared to Marshall's 223 passing yards. New Glarus-Monticello had 78 rushing yards off 36 attempts, four penalties that them 40 yards, and one lost fumble.

Marshall quarter back Ty DeForest completed four passes for 223 yards. The Knights' running back Trey Taylor had 23 yards on 11 carries.



Evansville-Albany 27, Edgerton 14

EDGERTON - The Blue Devils ran over Edgerton in a 27-14 win Friday, bringing their record to 3-3, 2-1 Capitol North.

Evansville-Albany coach Ron Grovesteen said nobody was expecting the win, and he was proud of his team.

Evansville-Albany had 354 total yards with 320 rushing yards off of 37 carries. The Blue Devils had 34 passing yards on two completions and no interceptions and four penalties costing them 45 yards.

Nate Redders had rushed for 135 yards on 12 carries. Redders also caught one pass for 20 yards.

Evansville-Albany will play Whitewater Friday.
