ARGYLE - The Argyle girls basketball team couldn't overcome a hot-shooting senior from Potosi and fell to the Chieftains 66-48 at home.

Potosi was led by senior Abby Ames who had a game-high 28 points.

Ames, who plays in the Six Rivers West Conference, has been feasting on Six Rivers East teams of late, having put up 19 points against Juda on Saturday.

"We just didn't have an answer for guarding (Ames)," Argyle coach Kurt Ritschard said. "She's an overall good player."

Leading the way for the Orioles was sophomore Jenna Langmeier, who had 10 points. Juniors Jessica Treuthardt and Rachel Saalsaa chipped in eight points apiece.

"Overall, all 10 girls played tonight and stayed aggressive, and nine out of the 10 scored," Ritschard said. "At one point in the fourth quarter we made a nice run. Overall, I thought our girls played very very hard. On normal nights when you score 48, you should win."

The Orioles will open up Six Rivers East play against Albany at home Friday.
