ALBANY - Abby Kaiser and Calie Gibson each scored a game-high 21 points to power Potosi to an 81-35 win over the Albany High School girls basketball team Monday.
The Chieftains made 15 of 25 free throws, and Gibson hit three 3-pointers.
"I knew going in we didn't match up well," Albany coach Adam Wamsley said. "Our young players turned the ball over and it snowballed. We have a young group and I have to be patient with them. We have to learn how to handle pressure. We will keep working, growing and get better."
Sophomores Haley Freitag and Madeline Halverson each scored eight points to lead Albany.
Albany drops to 0-3. The Comets open up Six Rivers East Conference play Friday when they host Black Hawk.
"They (Black Hawk) are playing well," Wamsley said. "They will be really good test for us to start out conference. Hopefully, we can get a win on our home court to start out conference. Hopefully, we come ready to battle."
