Ponies bust BH; Pec tops Argyle 8-4

MONTICELLO - The Ponies dominated Black Hawk at the plate Monday and walked away with a 13-3 win.

Tyler Ritschard was the only Monticello player with multiple hits, but the Ponies (7-7, 5-3 Six Rivers East) were consistent in their pursuit of the victory. Monticello scored two runs in the first, four in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and two more in the fifth to end the game early.

Lukas Kolasch allowed just two hits, three walks and just one earned run while striking out seven Warriors.

Black Hawk (3-9, 2-6) sent three different pitchers to the mound, none of which could get much going.

Pecatonica 8, Argyle 4

BLANCHARDVILLE - The Vikings (10-7, 7-3) used a big, four-run third inning to get well ahead of the Orioles. Taylor Berg, Karson Feller and Tyler Francois all had big hits in the third, which put Pecatonica ahead 6-1 at that point.

Tannar Johnson struck out five batters and allowed four hits and a run in five innings for the Vikings. Berg relieved Johnson to close out the win.

Berg had two hits from the leadoff spot, including an RBI double; Feller had three hits, a double and 3 RBIs; and Ross Gilbertson was 2 for 4.

Nate Thomas took the loss on the hill for the Orioles, striking out three while allowing three walks and 10 hits.

Thomas was 2 for 3 at the plate and Alec Treuthardt was 2 for 4 for Argyle.

Barneveld 4, Albany 1

BARNEVELD - The Comets couldn't get a hit off of Jeremy Kitelinger, who 1-hit Pecatonica two weeks before. Kitelinger struck out 11 and walked two, allowing an unearned run to score in the sixth inning.

The Eagles (12-0, 9-0) collected nine hits off of left-hander Cody Schulz, who struck out four and walked two.

Jefferson 7, Brodhead 2

BRODHEAD - Carson Scheidegger was tagged for seven runs as the Eagles (7-7, 5-5 Rock Valley) collected five doubles against Cardinal pitching.

Jefferson scored a run in the third, fifth and seventh innings, with the biggest inning coming in the top of the sixth (four runs). Brodhead (3-6, 2-6) had four hits.

Lodi 9, New Glarus 5

NEW GLARUS - The Glarner Knights (2-12, 1-9 Capitol South) were led in hitting by Evan Hauge, who went 3 for 4 at the plate with two runs, an RBI and a double.

A four-run fifth inning gave New Glarus a brief 5-4 lead, but the Blue Devils (10-2, 7-0 Capitol North) scored five runs over the last two innings to close out the game.

Braden Pittman pitched all seven innings for the Knights, allowing 14 hits and four walks.
