PeeWee A tops Wildcats

MONROE - The Avalanche PeeWee A team hosted and beat the Waunakee Wildcats A team 4-0 Sunday.

The Avalanche dominated the game with Ryan Molitor first scoring on a pass from Cade Janecke in the first period. The Avalanche lit the lamp for another in the second by Cade Janecke on an assist by Molitor. The Avalanche scored two more goals in the third period. The first goal came from Janecke on an assist by Molitor. Tessa Janecke scored a goal on assists by Payton Stauffacher and Hayden Roth.

Goalie Heath Bear recorded 32 saves. The Avalanche PeeWee A team improves their record to 8-1-1 for the season.



U14 Girls

The Avalanche U14 girls hockey team lost a hard-fought game 2-0 to the DC Diamonds U14A team at home Sunday.

There was no score in the first or third periods. The DC Diamonds scored two goals in the second period.

Goalie Ally Esch recorded 25 saves. The Avalanche host their home tournament Saturday and Sunday.



Avalanche Squirt A

On Saturday, the Squirt A team traveled to Sauk Prairie to take on the Sauk Prairie Squirt B Flyers. The Avalanche controlled the puck most of the game and beat the Flyers 7-2.

Blaze Janecke (four) and Seth Brandt each had unassisted goals. In the second period, Ethan Rosenstiel lit the lamp with an assist from Blaze Janecke.

In the third period, Lilah Bauer found Gavin Roth for the Avalanche's final goal. Goalie Jack Leverton recorded 10 saves. The Avalanche improve their record to 3-7.

Bantam

The Avalanche Bantam team improved their record to 6-2 Saturday and Sunday by defeating Patriots B and Stoughton A.

On Saturday, the Avalanche defeated the Patriots 6-1. At the end of the first period, Cade Janecke opened up the scoring with a goal on an assist by Jared Cline. The Patriots answered with a goal of their own, but three minutes later Cline scored to put the Avalanche back on top. Forty seconds later, Joe Wyss scored a goal on an assist from Ty O'Connor to give the Avalanche a 3-1 lead at the end of the first period.

The Avalanche went on to score three more goals in the second period. Scoring goals were Riley Jones, Travis Edmunds and Wyss. Earning assists were Colton O'Connor, Janecke and Wyss.

Goalie Jayden Johnson recorded 28 saves.

On Sunday, the Avalanche defeated Stoughton A 8-2. Payton Stauffacher scored the only goal in the first period on assists by Janecke and Cline.

Wyss scored a few minutes into the second period on assists by Edmunds and O'Connor. Cline scored on a blast from the blue line on assists from Charlie Harris and Janecke. Harris scored the Avalanche's fourth goal on a pass from Riley Jones. Less than a minute later, Edmunds scored a goal on an assist by Wyss. Edmunds scored again 14 seconds later, this time on an assist by O'Connor.

Edmunds scored an unassisted goal in the third period to earn a hat trick. Wyss scored the final goal of the game on an assist by O'Connor. This was O'Connor's third assist of the game, earning him a rare playmaker. Johnson had 16 saves.
