PeeWee A team defeats Oregon

MONROE - The Avalanche PeeWee A knocked off visiting Oregon PeeWee A 7-3 Saturday.

The Avalanche came out strong with two goals in the first period to Oregon's one. Tessa Janecke scored the first goal on an assist by Roman Bauer. Alvin Buholzer scored a goal on a pass from Janecke.

The Avalanche outscored Oregon 3-1 in the second period with two goals from Blaze Janecke and one from Tessa Janecke. Earning assists were Alyssa Knauf (2), Hayden Roth and Sarah Edler. The Avalanche kept Oregon at bay with Hayden Roth scoring two more times. Goaltender Jack Leverton recorded 25 saves.

On Sunday, the Avalanche PeeWee A hosted Shaw PeeWee A and lost a nail-biter 3-2.

Tessa Janecke opened game scoring with a breakaway goal. Shaw responded with two goals in the first period. Early in the second period, Shaw scored another goal. Alyssa Knauf scored a goal in a battle around the net on an assist by Tessa Janecke. Leverton recorded 26 saves.



Bantam A

The Avalanche Bantam traveled to Oregon on Saturday and tied 4-4.

Oregon got on the board first, but the Avalanche scored with 15 seconds left in the first period with a goal by Travis Edmunds on an assist by Payton Stauffacher.

The Avalanche took the lead in the second period with a goal by Cade Janecke on an assist by Stauffacher.

Oregon took a 3-2 lead early in the third period. Stauffacher found the back of the net on an assists by Cade Janecke and Hayden Roth to tie the game. Oregon scored with minutes left. With 52 seconds left, Stauffacher fired one in from the blue line.

Goaltender Heath Bear recorded 27 saves.

On Sunday, the Avalanche Bantam A team hosted Stoughton Vikings Bantam A and skated to a 7-1 win.

The Avalanche dominated the entire game and put up five goals before the Vikings got on the board at the end of the second period.

Scoring for the Avalanche were Cade Janecke (2), Tessa Janecke (4) and Luke Kuberski. Earning assists were Luke Kuberski (2), Travis Edmunds, Stauffacher (2), Cade Janecke (3) and Hayden Roth (2).
