PeeWee A takes two

MONROE - On Saturday, the Monroe Avalanche PeeWee A team hosted and shut out the Janesville team, defeating them 17-0.

Scoring for the Avalanche were Cade Janecke (three goals), Payton Stauffacher (two goals), Tessa Janecke (five goals), Hayden Roth (two goals), Anika Einbeck, Ryan Molitor (two goals), Alyssa Knauf, and Alvin Buholzer.

Notching assists were Haley Knauf (two), Molitor (three), Einbeck (two), Stauffacher (three), Tessa Janecke (two), Cade Janecke (two), Roth (two), Buholzer, and Alyssa Knauf. The Avalanche out-shot Janesville, 50-2.

On Sunday, PeeWee A team hosted and shut out the Beloit Blades A team, 5-0.

Cade Janecke opened the scoring with an unassisted goal with 6:12 left in the first period and lit the lamp at the beginning of the third period on assists by Jayden Johnson and Alyssa Knauf. On a pass from Tessa Janecke, Johnson put one in the net. With one second on the clock, Tessa Janecke closed the first period with a goal on an assist by Cade Janecke.

Roth scored 41 seconds into the third period on an assist by Buholzer. Goalie Heath Bear recorded eight saves while the Avalanche had 51 shots on the Blades' goal.



PeeWee B

The Avalanche PeeWee B team skated to a 5-2 win over Middleton Saturday.

As the first period came to a close, Monroe's Luke Kuberski scored a goal with 57 seconds left. Monroe's Brady Smith scored a second period goal on an assist by Rebekah Rath.

The Avalanche scored three goals in the third period. Kaiden Klitzke received a pass from Jared Dillon for the first goal in the third period. Dillon received a pass from Kuberski for the next goal. Kuberski scored the final goal on an assist from Smith.

On Sunday, the PeeWee B team shut out Reedsburg/Wisconsin Dells 8-0. Rath scored four goals, Dillon scored two goals, Ruger Hansen scored one goal and Kuberski scored one goal. Goalie Aiden Runkle now has two shutouts.



Squirt A

On Saturday, the Avalanche Squirt A team traveled to Beloit to take on the Beloit Blades Squirt C team at Edwards Ice Arena.

The Avalanche had a slow start, leading the Blades 1-0 after the first period. Karlee Boll scored the first goal unassisted. Lilah Bauer scored the second goal on an assist by Blaze Janecke in the second period. In the third period, the Avalanche added four more goals. The third period goals were scored by Blaze Janecke with three and Marlies Brandli with one.

Assists were made by Wyatt Janecke (one) and two by Ethan Rosenstiel.

The Squirts then went home to SLICE and faced off against Reeds-burg/Wisconsin Dells A team and lost 4-2.

The opposition scored four in the first two periods before the Avalanche finally put together a solid defensive stand in the third period. The final period was won by the Avalanche 2-0. Blaze Janecke scored the only two goals for the Avalanche.

Jack Leverton recorded 23 saves in the match. The Squirt A team falls to 2-3 on the season so far.



U14 Girls

The Avalanche U14 Girls team hosted the U14 Ice Spirit on Sunday. The Ice Spirit won 5-1.

Alyssa Knauf scored the lone Avalanche goal on assists by Anika Einbeck and Tessa Janecke. Goalie Ally Esch recorded 27 saves.



Trees at SLICE

Christmas trees will be sold at SLICE beginning Saturday at SLICE (1632 4th Avenue West; Monroe). Hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays; and 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Sundays. There are many varieties and sizes.
