PeeWee A takes 3

MONROE - The Monroe Avalanche PeeWee A team defeated the Janesville PeeWee A team 5-1 on Saturday.

Scoring for the Avalanche were Hayden Roth, Ryan Molitor (2), Cade Janecke and Tessa Janecke. Earning assists were Hayden Roth with a playmaker (three assists in one game), Tessa Janecke, Jayden Johnson and Payton Stauffacher. Goalie Heath Bear recorded 19 saves.

On Sunday, the PeeWee A team traveled to Hartmeyer Ice in Madison. The Avalanche won 8-2. Hayden Roth found the back of the net for five goals while Cade Janecke, Tessa Janecke and Ryan Molitor each lit the lamp for one. Earning assists were Anika Einbeck (2), Tessa Janecke (4), Alvin Buholzer (2), Cade Janecke and Alyssa Knauf. Goalie Heath Bear recorded 29 saves.

In a second game Sunday, the Dubuque Jr. Saints B team came to SLICE to take on the Avalanche PeeWee A. The Avalanche dominated the game, winning 6-1. Scoring for the Avalanche were Tessa Janecke, Hayden Roth, Jayden Johnson, Anika Einbeck (2), and Ryan Molitor. Assisting on the goals were Hayden Roth, Anika Einbeck, Ryan Molitor, Tessa Janecke (2), and Cade Janecke. The Avalanche out-shot the Jr. Saints 52-5. The PeeWee A's record for the season to date is 7-1-1.



Monroe Pee Wee B

The Monroe Pee Wee B Avalanche Hockey team dropped both of its games Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, the Avalanche took on the Janesville B team. The Avalanche were charged with 12 penalties throughout the game.

Janesville scored six unanswered goals to start the game and won 6-3.

Scoring goals for the Avalanche were Rob Schroeder on an assist from Luke Kuberski; Rebekah Rath on assists from Ruger Hansen and Bryce Montgomery; and Broc Kuberski.

Avalanche Goaltender Aiden Runkle had 25 saves in the game.

On Sunday, the Avalanche Pee Wee Bee team lost to the Stoughton Vikings 10-0. The Avalanche were out-shot by the Vikings 44-12. Runkle had 34 saves on the day.



Squirt A

The Monroe Avalanche Squirt A team played two games this past weekend. On Saturday, the Avalanche hosted the Beloit Blades Squirt A team. The Blades won 14-0. Goalie Jack Leverton recorded 61 saves.

On Sunday, the Squirt A team traveled to Sauk Prairie to take on the Flyers. The Avalanche came ready to play the tough Sauk Prairie team but lost 6-4. Blaze Janecke scored all four goals for the Avalanche. Defensive plays were made by Anna Malone, Seth Brandt, Lilah Bauer and Marlies Brandli. Jack Leverton recorded 29 saves in goal.

The Avalanche fell to 2-7 overall. Monroe Avalanche Squirt A will take on the Patriots at Hartmeyer Ice Arena Dec. 13.



U12 Girls

On Saturday, the Avalanche Girls U12 team opened their season with two games against the Baraboo U12 Girls.

The Avalanche had a slow start to the first game against a more experienced Baraboo team. The Avalanche netted only one goal by Lilah Bauer in the first period to Baraboo's four. Anna Malone lit the lamp to bring the score to 4-2. Baraboo came back strong in the third period dropping in three more goals to end the game at 7-2. Goalie Brooke Teubert marked 14 saves in the game.

The teams returned to the ice for a second match-up, and the Avalanche beat Baraboo 4-0. Rebekah Rath scored in all three periods with assists from Sara Edler and Breleigh Stuart. Lilah Bauer scored on an empty net. Brooke Teubert had 19 saves and recorded her first shut-out.
