BLANCHARDVILLE - Senior Tannar Johnson went 3 for 3 with a double and three RBIs to help the Pecatonica Vikings score in every inning and top the River Ridge Timberwolves, 10-6 in a non-conference game Tuesday.

Senior Kevin Swenson collected two hits and drove in a run as the Vikings built a 6-1 lead after two innings. Junior J.J. Hogan pitched four and-a-third innings and gave up just one earned run and a walk while striking out three batters to get the win.

The Timberwolves scored four runs in the fourth inning to get to within 7-6, but senior Taylor Berg came on in relief in the fifth and held River Ridge scoreless the rest of the way. The Vikings pulled away with single runs in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.

Pecatonica had 11 hits, but committed three errors which kept River Ridge in the game.

"Errors cost us some runs on defense," Pecatonica head coach Jim Strommen said. "But, we did a decent job of putting the ball in play."

Pecatonica will host Monticello Monday in a Six Rivers East Conference game.
