BLANCHARDVILLE - The Black Hawk boys basketball team was picked by many coaches as the preseason favorite to win the Six Rivers East. Just don't tell Pecatonica junior Colton Schraepfer that after he scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Vikings to a 66-56 win over the Warriors Friday.
Pecatonica (3-1, 2-0 Six Rivers East) jumped out to a 29-20 lead at the half and held off the Warriors in the second half. Vikings senior Evan Prust added 12 points and junior Jaden Hendrickson chipped in 9 points and hit two of the team's five 3-pointers. It marks the second straight loss for Black Hawk, which falls to 0-2 in conference.
"It's a good start no doubt about that," Pecatonica coach Matt Fink said. "I think the biggest thing is the timing. We played Black Hawk at the right time. They have only played two games and were coming off a long playoff run in football. They will come back and be better. We are fortunate. Happy and excited at the same time."
Black Hawk senior Michael Flanagan scored a team-high 14 points, senior C.J. Leuzinger had 11 and junior teammate Conner Meyer chipped in 10 points.
Monticello 49, Albany 31

Albany junior Josh Dahl scored a team-high 12 points and junior Jamison Stauffacher added 8 points.
Juda 64, Argyle 54
