BRODHEAD - In a tale of two halves, the Brodhead-Juda baseball team gave up a 8-0 lead in the third inning in their conference loss to Palmyra-Eagle on Thursday.
After holding the visiting Panthers scoreless to start the game, Brodhead-Juda erupted for seven runs to put Palmyra-Eagle in an early deficit. But from the third inning on, the role of fortunes seemed to switch sides, as Brodhead-Juda was held scoreless, which gave way to Palmyra-Eagle's comeback.
After switching pitchers in the first inning, Palmyra-Eagle held Brodhead-Juda in check for much of the remainder of the game. A five-run inning in the fifth by the Panthers was just enough to spark their comeback.
Senior Daniel Skoumal went 4-for-5 at the plate for the Cardinals. Skylar Stuckey went 2-for-4 including a home run.
