Bats of the Stewart Tunnel program June 25
Long-eared bat
The Northern long-eared bat's threatened status is a concern for area loggers as the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service considers new rules prohibiting any activity within a quarter mile of hibernacula, or hibernation areas.

BELLEVILLE — The Friends of the Badger and Sugar River Trails and the Belleville Public Library will be hosting a DNR bat program on June 25 at 10 a.m. at the Belleville Community Park shelter #2. Jennifer Reddell, bat biologist and cave and mine specialist with the DNR will be leading the discussion.

The Badger and Sugar River Trails would like to thank the groups, families, and individuals who helped with clean up the trails to honor Earth Day.
