ARGYLE - If Argyle volleyball coach Jen Butler had any say the Orioles were not going to overlook Juda in a Six Rivers East Conference match Thursday.

Argyle (4-2, 2-0 Six Rivers East) rolled to a sweep of the Panthers 25-14, 25-22, 25-19. Juda was coming off a four-set loss to Barneveld.

"We knew they (Juda) were close to Barneveld coming in," Butler said. "We don't want to take any team for granted this year."

Argyle senior Jenna Langemier had a team-high 21 digs and 12 kills. Juda (3-2, 0-2) led 8-1 to start the second set. The Orioles rallied with sophomore Kayla Butler-Paulson serving five straight points to jump-start the Orioles. Paulson finished with 25 assists and five aces.

Juda senior Morgan Adkins had three kills and eight digs. Megan Powers added six assists for the Panthers.

Fennimore 3, Darlington 2

DARLINGTON - After winning the first two sets in its home opener, the Darlington volleyball team was in the driver's seat against Fennimore.

Fennimore stormed back from an early hole to pull out a thrilling 22-25, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24, 18-16 comeback win over the Redbirds. Darlington (1-3, 0-1 SWAL) had 15 service errors in the final three sets.

"We had some missed serves that really cost us," Darlington coach Jennifer Schwartz said. "We are usually a strong serving team. That was a little disappointing. That is something that doesn't happen to us."

Darlington freshman Kennedy Rankin had 10 kills, 11 digs and two blocks. Senior Mariah Wiegel racked up nine kills and 11 digs. Megan Wiegel had 18 assists and senior Chloe Hinderman had six aces.

"They didn't roll up and die after that second set," she said. "They played hard and didn't give up. Learning to win will be our biggest obstacle because we haven't had that in quite some time at Darlington."

SOUTH WAYNE - Black Hawk charged out to an 18-6 lead in the third set against Monticello, but wasn't able to hang on to force a fourth set.
